Ayuntamiento de Morelia conmemora CLXII aniversario luctuoso de Melchor Ocampo

Morelia, Michoacán; 03 de junio del 2023.– En representación del Presidente Municipal de Morelia, Alfonso Martínez Alcázar, el secretario del Ayuntamiento Yankel Benítez Silva, y funcionarios de esta dependencia, conmemoraron el CLXII aniversario luctuoso del ilustre michoacano, Melchor Ocampo.

Desde la plaza donde se encuentra un monumento en honor a Melchor Ocampo y bajo la importancia de mantener los valores cívicos para esta administración, las autoridades municipales realizaron el acto protocolario, donde recordaron las hazañas del diplomático y político, quien dejó un legado importante en el estado y el país.

En el lugar se alzó la Bandera a media asta y posteriormente se hizo un depósito floral para honrar la vida y obra del reformista liberal.

Melchor Ocampo Tapia, nació el 5 de enero de 1814. Fue gobernador de Michoacán de 1846 a 1848, realizando aportaciones importantes para el Estado y la consolidación del Colegio de San Nicolás. Falleció un 3 de junio por fusilamiento en Tepeji del Río, Hidalgo, en 1814.
